Building Safe Cities
Objective
Safe City Mississauga had been a cornerstone of community safety for over 30 years, focused on creating a safer, more resilient city through community-based, proactive initiatives. The Building Safe Cities promotional video was part of a campaign to emphasize the importance of urban safety while encouraging collective responsibility among residents.
The objective was to craft a video that inspired action, reinforced the brand's commitment to secure and thriving communities, and highlighted the value of urban safety and community involvement in Mississauga.
Framework
This project encompassed the full video production process, where I contributed primarily as lead video editor, with additional responsibility for composing and producing the music. The initial phase involved developing the creative concept, ensuring that the narrative and visual direction were fully aligned with the mission of Safe City Mississauga. I was tasked with storyboarding and visual design, establishing the video’s visual style, and creating detailed storyboards to guide the production.
Additionally, I composed original music, which was carefully integrated with the visuals and dialogue to enhance the overall impact. During the editing phase, I worked to craft a cohesive narrative by refining the footage and ensuring seamless transitions. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with municipal representatives to ensure that the final product met the city’s safety objectives and vision.
